Original photograph attributed to William Henry Jackson, although this particular image has a George E. Mellen number (#2442).  Mellen served as one of Jackson's assistants in the early 1880s.  In lower right-hand corner, the W.H. Jackson Photo. Co., Denver label appears to be "rubbed out."

Excellent, and superbly dramatic, tones and details.  Mounted on original linen.
