Map is hand-colored, exhibiting land office districts such as Del Norte, Denver, Central City, Lake City, Leadville, and Pueblo. Original imprinted cloth covers with stamped title, gilt print faded. Exhibits settlements and towns, counties and Indian reservations, private and railroad land grants, roads and railroads, U.S. Public lands, U.S. Military reservations, townships, mining camps, notable topographical features, etc. One of the most highly detailed and accurate Colorado maps to-date.

Map dimensions: approximately 28 inches across by 24-1/2 inches in height

Thayer's Map shows most of Gunnison County as being part of the Ute Indian Reservation.

Map condition: very good; hinges reinforced on back of made with neutral pH conservation materials; hand-coloring bright; paper clean; details clear and concise. Original cloth covers are faded and lightly worn; gilt print faded; cloth generally clean and strong; overall very good condition;
