Original
dust jacket. This book sports an original dust jacket with the
original "$3.00" price still present. Front and back
panels are very bright and exceptionally clean. Dust jacket spine
has almost no fading and is bright with very light edge-wear along head
and toe. Dust jacket flaps do exhibit flaws: two tape marks on the
inner front flap; and, two tape marks on the back inner flap. For
the most part, this dust jacket is extraordinarily bright, clean, and
unfaded. |
|
Condition:
book, in light blue cloth covers, is in very good to near fine condition; the
silver print on spine is bright and has no flaking or dulling;
there is just the tiniest amount of wear to hear and toe; HOWEVER, on
back cover there are two old tape marks that have been lightly covered
over with aquamarine coloring. Interior of book: front endpaper is
clean, but front fly-leaf has two light tape bleeds, a previous owner's
bookplate, and earlier owner's writing (please review digital
image). There are two light tape bleeds on back fly-leaf.
There are NO stains or discolorations or foxing on pages -- these are
clean and bright.

Overall,
this a very good copy of one of Ernest Hemingway's most important
books. Condition is a very significant point with a first edition,
first printing of this title; and, the better the condition the more
expensive the price. |
